Purchase a PS2 controller USB adapter from an online retailer.
Insert the adapter into an open USB port on your computer. Download the adapter's drivers from the adapter installation CD by inserting it into your computer's disc drive and following the instructions.
Insert the PS2 controller into the adapter, already attached to the computer.
Open and run the game you want to play on your computer by double-clicking the game's desktop icon.
Select "Options" in the game and click on "Controller Configuration."
Test the game controller by moving the analog sticks and directional pad plus pressing the appropriate buttons.
