How to Make a PSP Serial Cable

The Sony Playstation Portable (PSP) is a hand-held console for advanced video games. Additionally, this console has the ability to connect to personal computers through the use of its USB cable. If you wish to connect your PSP to a computer's serial port rather than USB, you can do so by making use of certain special cables.

Things You'll Need

PSP USB cable
USB male-to-male cable
USB-to-Serial converter cable
Serial female-to-female cable

Instructions

  Connect the PSP end of your PSP USB cable to the proper port, located on the top of your console.

  Connect the USB end of your PSP USB cable to the USB port on one end of your USB male-to-male cable.

  Connect the USB end of the USB-to-Serial cable to the other end of the USB male-to-male cable.

  Connect one end of the Serial female-to-female cable to the Serial port on the USB-to-Serial adapter cable. The PSP Serial cable is now complete and can be connected to the serial port on a computer.
