How to Use a USB Cord to Connect to the Internet on a PSP

The Sony PlayStation Portable is a gaming device that is also capable of some basic multimedia functions. This includes playing videos and music, as well as surfing the Internet. The PSP's wireless network adapter was meant to connect to the Internet and networks using wireless protocol, but you can also use a wired connection. All that you need is the PSP mini-USB-to-USB cable and a USB-to-Ethernet adapter.

Instructions

      Connect one end of an ethernet cable to an open port on the back of your router. On many routers this will be a numbered port. Be careful not to connect the cable to the "Internet" or "WLAN" port.

      Insert the other end of the ethernet cable into the larger end of a USB-to-Ethernet adapter.

      Connect the small end of a mini-USB-to-USB cable into the corresponding port on the side of the PSP.

      Insert the larger end of the mini-USB-to-USB cable into the open end of the USB-to-Ethernet adapter.

      Turn on your PSP, then use the directional arrows to navigate to the "Settings" menu.

      Scroll to the "USB Connection" option and press the "X" button to turn it on. Return to the main menu once the USB connection is turned on.

      Scroll to "Network" on the main menu and select "Internet Browser."
