Turn off your PSP and turn the unit over. Slide the battery door off of the rear of the unit. Remove the battery and set it aside.
Remove all seven screws from the back of the unit. Four are located on the corners of the battery compartment, two on the corners at the rear of the PSP and one on the bottom of the PSP.
Pry the front faceplate off of the unit with your fingers and set it aside.
Use the tip of your screwdriver to pop the rectangular button bar, located just below the LCD screen, off of the unit.
Use the tip of your screwdriver to pop the metal tabs on all four corners of the LCD screen up.
Lift the LCD screen up and unplug the screen cable from the port on the top of the main circuit board. Remove the LCD screen and set it aside.
Remove the screws from the metal panel covering the circuit board. Remove the metal panel and set it aside.
Lift the clasp at the top of the directional pad up and remove the directional pad.
Unplug all cables from the top of the circuit board and remove all screws on the top of the board.
Remove the circuit board to expose the lens assembly inside.
Use your microfiber cloth to wipe the lens assembly clean of any dirt or debris. Reverse the steps for reassembly of the unit.
