How to Create an AC Adapter for the DS

If you've lost the AC adapter that was included with your Sony PSP or have broken it, you can make a cheap and rudimentary AC adapter. You will need to use a standard USB wall charger and the USB cable that came with your PSP. Many different companies sell chargers that plug into wall outlets designed for USB devices. These chargers can be used to charge your Sony PSP the same way the original AC adapter would.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug an AC-to-USB power adapter into a wall outlet in your home.

    • 2

Connect the Sony PSP's USB cable to both the AC-to-USB power adapter and to the Sony PSP itself.

    • 3

      Turn on your PSP.

    • 4

Select "Settings." In this window, select "USB Connection" to enable the USB connection on your PSP. This will allow the PSP to use the attached USB cable. Your PSP's battery will immediately begin to charge, thanks to the AC-to-USB adapter.
