How to Install a PSP ToolChain

The PSP ToolChain is a special set of libraries and files that Sony developers us to create PSP programs, games, emulators and applications. This official PSP ToolChain can only be licensed by Sony; however, the hacker community has made available an Open Source version of PSP ToolChain. The installation process for PSP ToolChain is a fairly straightforward one.

Things You'll Need

Windows computer with CYGWYN System application installed
Zip file extractor application

Instructions

  Launch the CYGWIN System on your computer by going to your "Start" menu, selecting "CygWin" and choosing "CygWin Bash Shell." This will open a DOS shell command window.

  Download PSP ToolChain to your computer (see Resources). Select the desktop as the download location to make it easy to find. The download will be a compressed folder.

  Open "Windows Explorer," and click on the "C Drive" icon.

  Choose the "Cygwin" folder, click the "Home" folder and select the "User" folder. Note that the "User" folder may actually have the name assigned to the current or main user account for your computer.

  Drag and drop the extracted PSP ToolChain folder into the "User" folder.
