Information on the SSID Connection for the PSP

The PlayStation Portable (PSP) has the ability to connect to a wireless connection. In order to make that connection you need to be familiar with what service set identifiers are (SSID).
  1. SSID

    • You can find your SSID on your wireless router. This is your box that connects you to the Internet and will have an antenna on it. It will typically be on a sticker on the bottom of your router, but if you have trouble finding it, refer to your router's manufacturer for further assistance.

    Security

    • Wireless connections have a few security options. When connecting your PSP to your SSID, if it requires you to enter a password, then your network is secure. The two options that may come up for passwords are the hexadecimal wired equivalent privacy (WEP) option or the personalized WiFi protected access (WPA).

    Speed

    • When connecting to your SSID you need to understand that it is a wireless connection. Wireless connections are not as reliable as a hard connection and your speeds and connectivity can vary.
