A Tutorial on How to Run Games on a PSP

The Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) uses Universal Media Discs, or UMDs, to play video games. Like all features and functions of the PSP, you must run any UMD game you want to play from the console's XMB (Xross Media Bar). The XMB comprises the main screen of the PSP and allows you to navigate different sections of the console's system.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the tip of your finger into the disc tray indentation on the top panel of the PSP.

    • 2

Pull outward to open the disc tray.

    • 3

Insert the UMD into the disc tray with the label facing outward.

    • 4

Navigate to the "Games" section of your XMB.

    • 5

Locate the UMD's icon. Press the "X" button to run the game.

    • 6

Press the "PS" button to quit the game before removing the UMD from the disc tray.
