How to Install Custom Firmware on a PSP Slim Error

The Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) is a handheld video game device that was updated with the release of the PSP Slim. The PSP Slim was released in 2007 as a lighter, and slightly thinner version of the original PSP. The PSP Slim retained all of the original PSP's hacking capabilities, including being able to install custom firmware on the PSP. Firmware is what runs the PSP Slim and original PSP. There is only one way to install custom firmware onto a PSP Slim without errors.

Things You'll Need

Pandora battery
Magic memory stick

Instructions

  Insert the Magic memory stick (MMS) into the PSP Slim memory stick reader, removing any inserted memory sticks prior to inserting the MMS.

  Insert the Pandora battery into the PSP Slim, again removing the regular battery before doing so. The PSP Slim will turn on automatically.

  Press the "X" button one time to begin the installation of the custom firmware. Press the "X" button again to shut down the PSP Slim.

  Reinsert the normal battery into the PSP Slim and turn it on. The PSP Slim will now be running custom firmware.
