How to Establish Internet Connection on PSP

The Sony PSP, or, PlayStation Portable, is a hand-held video gaming device with Internet capabilities. With a PSP, users can play games, watch movies, listen to music and surf the Web. In order for the Internet to work properly, you must be in an area with wireless Internet, such as a home with a wireless router or a Wi-Fi hot spot.

  Select the "Settings" icon. This icon is found on the home screen of the PSP and looks like a toolbox.

  Go to "Network Settings" and press the "X" button.

  Highlight "Infrastructure Mode" by pressing the "Down" button on the navigational pad and press "X."

  Highlight "New Connection" and press "X."

  Press the "Right" directional button on the navigational pad and highlight "Scan." Press "X" and the device begins to scan for available networks.

  Locate the desired SSID from the list and press "X."

  Select the security type; this setting will vary by Internet provider. If you're unsure, contact the provider for information.

  Enter the password for the wireless connection if required and press "X."

  Highlight "Easy" and press "X" to set the default Internet settings.

  Verify the settings are correct and press "X."
