How to Troubleshoot System Software Update Broken PSP

The Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) frequently loads software updates directly from Sony. Software updates improve system stability, allow for new features to be accessed and let you play newer games on the device. Sometimes, there is a problem when the Sony PSP is updated. This usually happens when power is lost during the update. There is only one known fix for the PSP in this case.

Jigkick battery
Magic memory stick

Instructions

  Insert the Magic memory stick into the PSP's memory stick reader.

  Insert the jigkick battery into the PSP's battery bay, and turn on the device. A menu will appear.

  Press the "X" button to reinstall the Sony PSP software. Press the "X" button again to shutdown the PSP when the install completes.
- 4
  Replace the regular battery and memory stick in the PSP, and turn it on. Connect the device to the charger, and perform the update again.
