How to Fix a Guitar Hero 3 Whammy Bar

Guitar Hero 3 lets you play hundreds of popular songs in your quest for musical greatness. The controller is modeled after a guitar, complete with a strum bar, fret keys and whammy bar. If the whammy bar is loose, you will need to fix it so it does not affect game play.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the guitar controller from your gaming system. Place the controller face down on a flat surface.

    • 2

Unscrew the 11 screws that hold the guitar casing together. Remove the back to expose the inner workings of the controller.

    • 3

Locate the whammy bar controls, a white section directly behind the whammy bar. Look for the area where cords run from the white section to the controller motherboard.

    • 4

Find the two screws on either side of the cords. These are tension screws; tightening them will fix a loose whammy bar.

    • 5

Close the controller back up and replace the screws.
