How to Fix a Rockband Drum Pedal

In Rock Band and its ensuing series, you can sing, play the guitar and bass, and hit the drums on varied songs from the likes of the Rolling Stones and the Beatles to contemporary artists such as Lady Gaga and Carrie Underwood. The drums that come with Rock Band, however, have a terrible flaw: the bass pedal. With repeated use, the flimsy plastic of the pedal will start to fracture, until it eventually snaps apart during a rendition of Iron Maiden's "Run to the Hills." Luckily, there are products that make it an easy fix.

Instructions

    • 1

Replace the pedal. If your drum kit and game are still under the 60-day warranty, Electronics Arts Inc. will replace the pedal for free. This is the cheapest option.

    • 2

Buy a Rock Band pedal repair kit online. The Pedal Metal kit ships quickly and is relatively cheap (see Resources).

    • 3

Place the metal on the pedal. It's cut out so it should fit perfectly on pedal. Make sure it lines up.

    • 4

Install the metal on the pedal. The Pedal Metal comes with six "self-drilling" screws. They don't work. Use your electric drill to drive the screws in the six holes on the metal, and through the plastic of the pedal.
