Things You'll Need
Instructions
Connect the arcade stick controller to your video game console or PC.
Insert and load up the video game you want to play with the arcade stick. Test that the control stick works on the video game's menu screen before beginning a game. If you are having connectivity issues, consult the video game's manual or online help to ensure it's connected properly.
If you're right-handed, grip the joystick in your left hand, and place your right hand so that it sits comfortably on the buttons. Some players recommend putting your fingers on the top row of buttons, but if that's uncomfortable, you should place your hand in the most comfortable position.
Begin a low-level practice round. Choose your favorite character and an opponent who is comparatively weaker. Some games have an option to have the opponent move or stand still, and in other games, you may be able to set the difficulty to "easy."
Practice your characters moves and make sure you're able to perform them all. The more you practice, the more your finger muscles will become used to performing those button combinations through repetition.
