Can You Play Guitar Hero Drums on Rock Band?

Harmonix's "Rock Band" and Activision's "Guitar Hero" video games and video game accessories are so similar that there has been some confusion as to whether or not the "Guitar Hero" drum peripherals (controllers) are compatible with the "Rock Band" video games.

Console Consideration
- "Rock Band" brand video games can be played on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 2 and 3, and the Nintendo Wii video game systems. The "Guitar Hero" peripherals, like the drums, work or don't work depending on the console.
Xbox 360
- The "Guitar Hero" drum peripheral is fully compatible for all "Rock Band" brand video games, even "Lego Rock Band," for the Xbox 360.
PlayStation 2
- The "Guitar Hero" drum peripheral will not play on any of the available "Rock Band" brand video games for the PlayStation 2.
PlayStation 3
- The PlayStation 3 "Guitar Hero" drum peripheral is compatible with most "Rock Band" brand video games except the original "Rock Band" video game.
Nintendo Wii
- The Nintendo Wii "Guitar Hero" drum peripheral, like the PlayStation 3, is compatible with most "Rock Band" brand video games except the original "Rock Band" video game.
