How to Use a Microphone in Guitar Hero World Tour

Purchase a microphone with a USB output. You can either use the microphone for the "Guitar Hero: World Tour" game or a microphone for "Rock Band." Regular microphones, however, will not work.

Plug the microphone into the USB port in the gaming platform that you have. The port will be either in the front, side, or back of the console, depending on which one you own. It looks like a short, thin hole about the width of a stick of gum.

Turn on the game. If the microphone is plugged in, the console will read the new device and allow it to be used. Since the person with the microphone does not have a way to control his character (as opposed to the directional arrows on the guitars or drum set) the player with the microphone will have to use an ordinary controller to scroll through the menu.
