How to Use Drums From Guitar Hero World Tour on Rock Band

Guitar Hero World Tour is a video game that uses specially designed instruments to simulate the experience of playing and performing music. Rock Band is a competing video game with its own line of instruments that can be used on gaming systems. Each game offers its own bass, guitar, drums and vocal instruments to allow a group to perform the songs. However, Guitar Hero World Tour drums can be used on Rock Band--with limitations and an added degree of difficulty to playing the game on high levels.

Instructions

Connect Guitar Hero World Tour drums to your gaming system. You must buy a patch cable if you are playing Rock Band on a PlayStation 3. If you are using an Xbox 360, you can hook the drums up to the gaming system without any extra components needed.

Turn on Rock Band. Select an easy song at first and get accustomed to the new configuration of the drum set up for the Guitar Hero drums. Guitar Hero is played by watching the scrolling color squares come across the screen and playing the matching color rimmed drum when needed.

    • 3

Test the cymbals on the Guitar Hero drum set. The Guitar Hero drum set has two separate cymbals that are not included in the Rock Band drum set. The cymbal to the right with the red colored circle above the pad will not be working. Since Rock Band drums only have four pads you will be able to play the game without the use of the red cymbal pad.

Check the drum pads on the Guitar Hero drum set. Note there is a difference in the positioning of the blue pad between the Guitar Hero and Rock Band drum sets. On the Guitar Hero drum set, the blue pad is in the middle. This can make using the Guitar Hero drums in Rock Band more difficult at expert levels.
