Instant Messaging
Xfire̵7;s instant messaging component works within whatever game you or another using is playing. The other person receives the message instantly while he's actively playing a game or in a game's standby mode. The component eliminates the need to run another instant message program like IRC, Yahoo Messenger, Google Chat or similar instant messaging program. Xfire also displays what game another individual is playing while you're chatting with him.
Online Games
The application is able to keep track of gamers playing server and non-server based games including real-time strategy, first-person shooter and role-playing games. Xfire cannot keep track of individuals playing games on stand-alone gaming systems including the Xbox 360, PlayStation or Nintendo Wii. An individual must be playing an online PC game for you to communicate with her via Xfire.
System Requirements
Xfire is compatible with Windows 8, 7, Vista as well as systems running Windows XP and 2000. Your computer needs at least 10MB of free hard drive space and a video driver that supports DirectX 9.0c or higher as well as DirectX 9.0c installed. Your computer also needs Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher and a monitor with a resolution of 800 pixels by 600 pixels set to 256 colors.
