How to Change Gameshark Codes to Poke Codes

The Pokemon video game franchise spans several different Nintendo game consoles. The GameBoy versions of Pokemon are compatible with the GameShark cheat device developed by Mad Catz. This device alters the game by using specialized codes. The Monster Brain, developed by Pelican Accessories, is a similar cheat device that generates Poke Codes. The GameShark and Monster Brain devices are not compatible with one another by default. By using the GameShark 2 Monster Brain application, it is possible to convert codes from one format to the other.

Instructions

    • 1

Download the GameShark 2 Monster Brain application from the developer's website (see the Resources section of this article).

    • 2

Double-click on the "gs2mb.exe" file to launch the GameShark 2 Monster Brain application.

    • 3

Enter the GameShark code that you want to convert into the text box in the top left corner of the application window.

    • 4

Click the "GameShark > Monster Brain" button to convert the code.

    • 5

Write down the resulting Poke Code that appears in the text box on the right side of the application window. This converted code can now be used with the Monster Brain device.
