GameShark and Warranties
GameShark is a third-party device that is not produced by any of the video game console manufacturers. Although GameShark has been created to work with video game consoles, it is not made by the manufacturer of the video game console on which it will be used. Therefore, the use of GameShark devices on a video game console can void the warranty on that console since it is not a device supported by the console manufacturer.
GameShark For PlayStation
You must purchase a GameShark device for the specific PlayStation console that you own: The PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation 3 GameShark devices, all in the form of discs, are each unique and will not work with the other PlayStation consoles. A PSP GameShark in the form of a cartridge is also available for the PSP hand-held gaming device. You must insert discs into the area where games are normally placed so that cheats can be downloaded prior to gameplay.
GameShark For XBox
GameShark offers GameShark devices, in the form of discs, for the Xbox and Xbox 2 gaming consoles. GameShark does not produce a cheat device for the Xbox 360 as of October 2011. You must insert the GameShark discs into the console where games are normally placed to download the cheat codes prior to playing a game.
GameShark For Nintendo
The GameShark devices for the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo GameCube are in disc form. You must insert the discs into the game slot on the console to download cheats to the console. The GameShark devices for the Nintendo 64, Nintendo NES, and all versions of the Nintendo Gameboys are in cartridge form. You must plug the GameShark cartridge directly into the game slot, then place the game cartridge itself on top of the GameShark cartridge. When correctly attached, the game cartridge will click into place, attaching itself to the GameShark cartridge.
