How to Make Tritton Ax720 Work With an HDMI Cable

The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles use an HDMI cable for the best picture quality. The cable carries both audio and video signals. As of the time of publication, both consoles also include an optical audio port which you can use to connect a gaming headset like the Tritton Ax720. The headset features a microphone and Dolby surround sound.

Things You'll Need

Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3
HDMI cable

Instructions

- 1
  Plug the audio optical cable into the optical output port on your Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. Plug the other end of the cable into the audio input port on the Ax720 base unit.

  Plug the USB cable into one of the USB ports on the console if you are using a PS3. Connect the other end to the USB input on the back of the base unit. The Xbox 360 does not require a USB connection.

  Connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI output on your game console. Plug the other end into the TV.

  Connect the in-line audio controller unit to one of the headset ports on the front of the base unit.

  Plug the microphone cable into the bottom of the Xbox 360 controller. Plug the other end into the port on the side of the in-line audio controller. Skip this step if you are using a PS3.

  Connect the cable leading from the headset into the jack on the end of the in-line audio controller.

  Plug the AC adapter into the base unit. Plug the other end into a power outlet.
