Instructions
Start with a Nerf N-Strike Recon CS-6 Dart Blaster. This toy rifle most closely resembles the assault rifle from "Halo" out of the Nerf N-Strike blaster series.
Place a ruler up to the rifle, spanning from the grip to the back of the gun. Measure this distance, which is only a few inches. Mark the distance on the piece of 1/4-inch plywood. Design a rectangle out of the distance. For instance, if the length is 5 inches, draw a rectangle in the plywood that is 5 inches long by 3 inches wide.
Carve the rectangle out of the plywood with a wood-carving blade. Place the rectangle flat against the bottom of the rifle's grip and back until the end of the plywood touches the end of the rifle. Glue the two ends in place with a hot glue gun so that the plywood affixes to the Nerf gun.
Glue two of the 3-inch by 10-inch plastic plumbing pipes to either side of the front of the assault rifle using a hot glue gun. The two pipes serve as the assault rifle's barrel pieces that are on the assault rifle in "Halo." Allow the glue to dry for one hour.
Cover the light beam on the rifle with duct tape before you spray paint it. This protects the light beam so that it effectively displays the light. Spray paint the Nerf rifle black on all sides with a spray paint that is intended for plastic. Use two coats on each side, and wait two hours for the rifle to dry.
