PS Button
The PS Button -- also known as the home button -- on the PlayStation controller is located in the center of the controller. This button allows access to the controller and display settings so that gamers may reassign the port or number assignments. If you don't like the default number assignment for LittleBigPlanet, press the PS Button and wait for the display to appear on the screen over the video game. At this time gamers can reassign the controller settings so that, for instance, instead of Sackboy jumping on command of the "X" button you can change the settings so that Sackboy jumps when you press the "O" button instead.
Vibration
Some of the Sony PlayStation controllers have a vibration function build into them. However, the vibration function is not mandatory so players can activate the vibration or turn it off. A vibrating controller begins to vibrate when Sackboy is struck by something, dies or runs into things. Gamers either appreciate this function or find it distracting during game play. To change this controller setting the player presses the PS or home button on the controller to bring up the settings options. One of the controller options that the player sees is to turn the vibration function off or on. Simply switching the setting and saving the changes resets the function so that the player either has or doesn't have the vibration.
Changing Modes
In "LittleBigPlanet" the player can choose what type of mode he would prefer to play in. The mode refers to which part of the controller the player uses to control the game. One type of mode is analog. In analog mode the player uses the small circular sticks at the bottom of the controller, which move Sackboy around in the game. Digital mode is the second type of mode that players of "LittleBigPlanet" can select from. In digital mode the player uses the digital pad, such as the directional buttons on the sides, to control the game. This setting can be changed in the game by pressing the PS Button and reviewing the setting options.
Tips For Settings Options
When a player gets to the settings options screen, after pressing the PS Button on the controller, she uses the directional buttons on the controller to scroll through the options. The directional buttons allow users to navigate in the up and down and side to side directions. The "X" button on the right side of the controller is pressed to confirm the selection. The player can get back to the main screen after the changes are made by pressing the "O" button.
