How to Make One Mod Controllers for Modern Warfare 2

Try all you want, those finger exercises probably won't make you shoot any faster in "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2." Instead of building sausages for fingers, you can mod your controller for rapid-fire shots with a few simple tweaks to an existing Xbox 360 controller. Once finished, the rapid-fire button modded into the back of your controller will give you a better chance at attaining a kill/death ratio higher than your friends'.

Things You'll Need

  • TT8 or TT9 screwdriver
  • Drill
  • 9mm drill bit
  • Push button switch
  • Precision knife
  • Soldering iron
  • Solder
  • Sponge
  • 2 IDE cables

Instructions

    • 1

Unscrew the 6 screws from the back of the Xbox 360 controller. Remove the battery pack and take out the seventh screw. Pull the backing off the controller and remove the circuit board.

    • 2

Drill into the lower right handle of the controller backing with the 9mm drill bit just above the vibration motor. Insert the push button switch into the hole.

    • 3

Remove the wall on the front of the controller encasing the vibration motor, using the precision knife. Close the controller to ensure a proper fit.

    • 4

Warm the soldering iron and coat the tip in solder. Wipe immediately with a wet sponge. Apply a small amount of solder to the soldering iron tip and place the iron against the circuit board on the center pin to the right of the "K8" marking. Solder the IDE cable to the pin.

    • 5

Solder the second IDE cable to the pin marked "D1." Solder the free ends of the IDE cables to the two pins on the push button switch.
