How to Build a USB Joystick Controller

A large number of joysticks designed for the personal computer connect to the device through the use of a gameport cable. However, many computers no longer possess a gameport, forcing users to buy USB joystick controllers. However, you can build a makeshift USB joystick controller by making use of an existing gameport controller and a special converter cable.

• PC gameport joystick
• USB-to-gameport converter cable

     Connect the gameport connector extending from your joystick to the gameport connector on your gameport-to-USB cable.

     Connect the USB end of your gameport-to-USB cable to an available USB port on your personal computer.
