Mis-typing Code
The simplest problem that might be occurring is that you are entering the code incorrectly. While some codes may only be two characters, others can be quite long depending on the difficulty of the master code that needs to be cracked. Take care to enter the code slowly and ensure you do not make any typing errors.
Entering Wrong Code
Since there can be many versions of similar titles, you might be entering the code for the wrong game. For example, the codes for ̶0;Pokemon Black̶1; will not work for ̶0;Pokemon White.̶1; Likewise, sequels to games will have different master codes than the original title, so make sure, for example, that you are entering the code for ̶0;Jak 3̶1; instead of ̶0;Jak 2.̶1;
Hardware Reset
If you continue to experience problems with the Action Replay, you may need to reset the Action Replay hardware. To do this, install the Action Replay software that came with the device onto your computer and connect the Action Replay cartridge to your computer with the included USB cable. Click on the Action Replay icon in the top left of the window and select ̶0;About Action Replay.̶1; Then click the ̶0;Reset Hardware̶1; button.
Out of Date Firmware
If your Action Replay is installed with an older version of the device̵7;s firmware, this can cause malfunctions during operation. Always upgrade to the most recent firmware version for full operability. The method of updating the device̵7;s firmware will vary depending on which console the Action Replace device is for. Refer to the Action Replay̵7;s user guide for specific instructions on how to update the firmware.
