How to Fix Turtle Beach So You Don't Hear Your Voice Through the Headset

The Turtle Beach line of surround sound headsets lets you hear in-game audio and chat audio through the headset's speakers. By default, the chat audio also includes that audio picked up by your microphone. Though you cannot change this setting while using the headset with a game console, you can change it when using the headset with a PC. If you do not want to hear the audio picked up by your microphone through the headset, you must connect the headset to your computer and change the headset's settings.

  Connect the Turtle Beach headset to the computer via the USB connection cable that came with the device.

  Click the "Start" button in the computer's taskbar and select the "Control Panel" option. Click the "Sound" option to view the sound devices connected to the computer.

  Click the "Playback" tab and double-click on the Turtle Beach USB headset icon.

  Click the "Microphone" slider and drag the slider all the way to the left. This will disable the playback of your microphone through your headset's speakers.

  Click the "OK" button to save the settings.
