How to Hook Up My Modded PS3 Controller

There are many different ways to modify a PlayStation 3 controller. There are modifications that only change the color of the controller, and there are also some that add extra buttons. While each modification is unique, the way the PS3 controller is hooked up to the PS3 system remains the same as a normal PS3 controller.

  Turn on the Sony PS3 by holding the "Power" button. The PS3 must be on when the controller is being synced to the system.

  Insert the smaller end of the mini USB cable into the top of the PS3 controller that has been modded.

  Connect the other end of the PS3 controller into one of the open USB ports. The PS3 controller has four LED lights on the top of it. All four will be blinking.

  Pull the smaller end of the mini USB cable out of the PS3 controller, and then pull the other end of the USB cable out of the PS3.
- 5
  Press the "PS" button in the middle of the PS3 controller. All four lights on the controller blink again for one to two seconds, and all the LEDs shut off except for one. The modded PS3 controller is now synced to the PS3 system.
