How to Get the Gameshark to Work on a PS3

The GameShark is a third-party peripheral that allows you to access cheat codes and other hacks not normally found in games for a variety of consoles, including the PlayStation and PlayStation 2. The device comes in two forms: CD and an accessory that plugs into the back of its respective console. The PlayStation 3 (PS3) does not share the same ports of the PSX and PS2 though, so the CD version of the accessory that is compatible with the console is required.

     Turn on your PlayStation 3 home console and log into your profile on the console.

     Insert the GameShark disc into your PlayStation 3. The disc will now be listed in the "Games" column of the console's main menu.

     Start the GameShark CD by navigating to the "Games" column and pressing the "X" button on the image of the CD. The disc will boot and you will be able to select the games and codes you want to use from the device.
