How to Update Action Replay Code Manager

The Action Replay cheat code device comes in handy when you're faced with a tough boss or you need extra cash to buy a powerful weapon. New Nintendo DS games are released regularly, and you need to update the Action Replay if you want to use codes for those games. As of August 2011, the latest firmware for the Action Replay is version 1.71. Download the free firmware from the Code Junkies website, then install it to have access to the latest cheat codes.

      Open your Internet browser. Go to the Code Junkies website and click on the "Support" button.

      Click "Action Replay Firmware 1.71," located under the "Download" section on the bottom-left side of the page. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Action Replay Firmware 1.71" to download it to your computer.

      Insert the Action Replay DS Code Manager disc into your computer. Install the software, if you have never done so before. Open the Code Manager when installation completes.

      Insert the Action Replay into the Nintendo DS. Turn on the console. Tap on the "Update" icon when the Action Replay menu opens. The "Update" icon resembles a computer mouse.

      Connect the Nintendo DS to the computer via USB cable. When the Code Manager detects the Nintendo DS, the "Waiting for DS" message disappears.

      Click on the downloaded update file. Drag the file onto the white bar of the Code Manager window. The firmware update starts.

      Click "Yes" to continue with the update. At the prompt, turn off the Nintendo DS and then turn it back on. This completes the Action Replay update.
