How to Hook Up a Logitech Precision Controller for the PlayStation 3

Aftermarket video-game controllers can often cost half as much as their Sony counterparts. For this reason, third-party controllers are quickly becoming popular choices when having to choose which controller to buy for a video-game system. Logitech offers a Sony PS3 controller that retains the look and feel of the original PS3 controller, along with wireless connectivity.

  Remove the battery cover on the back of the Logitech PS3 controller and insert two AA batteries. Place the battery cover back on.

  Turn your Sony PS3 system on and insert the USB wireless adapter into one of the PS3's accessible USB ports. The adapter comes with the Logitech controller and looks like a USB drive.

  Hold the Logitech PS3 controller within ten feet of the Sony PS3 system so the controller can access the wireless adapter. The Logitech PS3 controller automatically syncs with the wireless receiver and can now be used to control the PS3.
