How to Connect a Guitar to a PS3 Game

There are several games and series for the PlayStation 3 that use a guitar controller, such as Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and Band Hero. Because there are multiple different guitar models that are compatible with the system, they can sometimes conflict with each other. That's why it is important to sync the device when you connect it for the first time. If you are experiencing issues with the device, you can repeat the sync process to restore the connection between the guitar and the receiver.

  Open the battery panel on the back of the guitar controller and insert the batteries if necessary. Replace the battery panel.

  Slide the on/off switch on the back of the guitar to the on position if it has one.

  Flip over the guitar and press the button marked "sync" to begin the syncing process. The lights near the sync button should begin blinking.

  Plug the receiver into an open port on your PS3.

  Press the sync button on the receiver. The guitar and the receiver should synchronize with each other, and the guitar will stop blinking to indicate that the syncing process was successful.
