How to Reset the Poke Walker Accessory

The Pokewalker accessory that comes with "Pokemon: HeartGold" and "Pokemon: SoulSilver" is much like a pedometer that measures how many steps were taken in the day. The Pokewalker stores the number of steps made and grants the player bonuses depending on how much they've used it during the day. Sometimes the Pokewalker needs to be reset in order to get it working properly again, which can be done quickly and easily with the right tools.

Things You'll Need

Mini screwdriver
Pin or thumbtack

Instructions

  Unscrew the screw on the back of the Pokewalker with a mini screwdriver. Take off the cover.

  Push a pin or thumbtack softly onto the small depressed button on the left side of the back of the Pokewalker and hold it for at least 5 seconds; this will reset the Pokewalker.

  Replace the cover and the screw, using the mini screwdriver.

  Turn on the Pokemon game and navigate to the Pokewalker Connection Screen.

  Hold the buttons Down + X + L to reset and resync the Pokewalker to your game.
