Things You'll Need
Instructions
Place the PS3 Dual Shock game controller face down on a table. Remove the screws from the sides, top and bottom edges, using a Phillips jeweler's screwdriver. Gather the screws together and place them to the side so that they don't get misplaced.
Grip the back of the controller with one hand. Push in on the depression at the center with the other hand. Pull the center plate out. Pull the back off the controller and set it aside.
Remove the white battery clip from the left side of the circuit board. Remove the battery and set it aside.
Hold the modification chip so that the wire attached to it faces to the right. Remove the sticky paper from the bottom of the chip.
Press the modification chip on top of the square computer chip that is slightly off-center on the circuit board.
Tuck the LED at the end of the wire into the slot at the upper edge of the controller, diagonal to the upper right edge of the computer chip. Place the battery back in position and reattach the plug.
Replace the back of the controller. Reattach the center plate and the screws. Plug the controller into the controller port on the PS3.
