How to Button Mash Faster

"Button mashing" is a technique commonly used in video games where a player pushes one or multiple buttons repeatedly as fast as possible. Many games use button mashing during competitive play where the player who pushes the buttons the fastest gains a prize, special move or victory over his opponent. While some games punish button mashers by rewarding more specific timing and skill in using the game controller, the practice still remains a common strategy during games. You can button mash faster if you adjust your grip on the controller.

Turbo controller

  Hook up a turbo controller to the gaming console. Turbo controllers are designed to register a single press of a button as multiple button taps at a rate higher than what a person can achieve naturally. Turbo controllers therefore greatly increase your button mashing efficiency by giving it an artificial boost.

  Adjust your right hand so your palm is over the controller instead of on the side of it. Position your first two fingers over the buttons instead of your thumb.

  Press the buttons on the right of the controller with your fingers. You will be able to tap much faster with your fingers compared to a thumb and you'll have three or four fingers working for you at once instead of a single thumb, greatly increasing your button mashing speed.
