How to Copy & Paste Action Replay Codes

Since the 8-bit era, Action Replay cartridges have allowed gamers who don't mind bending the rules to give themselves a wide range of abilities not usually present in the game itself. The cartridges fit between the game cartridge and the gaming console and modify the memory registers responsible for the attributes of the characters in the game.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the CD that comes with Action Replay into your Windows PC and install the Action Replay Code Manager. While Action Replay ships with a number of cheat codes already installed, eventually you may want to get new ones or design your own.

    • 2

Launch Action Replay Code Manager once it has finished installing. Update your code database by clicking on the DS cartridge in the upper right corner of the window labeled "Software Upgrade."

    • 3

Look at the left window. This is your list of codes, arranged by game title in the left window. Drag and drop the titles of your games to the list in the window on the right labeled "Subscriptions." From there, you will be able to browse the dozens or even hundreds of cheats available for each game.

    • 4

Make sure that your Action Replay cartridge is connected to your computer via USB cable. Drag the cheats you would like to use to the lower-right window labeled "My Codelists."

    • 5

Insert your game into your Nintendo DS and select your cheat(s) from the list.
