How to Get the Fallout 3 Mod Manager

The Fallout Mod Manager is a community-developed accessory program for the PC versions of "Fallout 3" and "Fallout: New Vegas." The Fallout Mod Manager enhances the use of game modifications for "Fallout 3" and "Fallout: New Vegas" with features such as mod conflict detection, data archive browsing and creation, save game management and mod load order import and export. Use of the Fallout Mod Manager is necessary for players who use many mods for "Fallout 3" and "Fallout: New Vegas," as the mod management systems in both games only allow mods to be activated or deactivated.

  Open a new window in your Internet browser and go to the Fallout Mod Manager entry on the Fallout 3 Nexus web site.

  Click the "Files" tab to navigate to the Fallout Mod Manager files listing. Click "New FOMM" to start downloading the Fallout Mod Manager.

  Select the "Run" option when the download prompt for your selected download appears. If no download prompt appears, check your Internet browser's security notification system at the top or bottom of your Internet browser window and give the browser permission to download the file. The Fallout Mod Manager installer will start once the installer is completely downloaded.

  Click the "Next" button when the Fallout Mod Manager installer starts. Select the "I accept this agreement" option at the license agreement page and click the "Next" button. Accept the default installation directory and program group settings or choose a custom installation directory and program group with the "Browse" button.

  Select additional installation options such as desktop icons and file format associations and click the "Next" button. Click the "Install" button and the Fallout Mod Manager will install to your computer. The Fallout Mod Manager is now ready for use.
