Locate the cord on the joystick or controller used to connect it to the computer. Review the end of the cord. Modern joysticks use USB cords to connect to the computer.
Insert the joystick or controller's cord into the personal computer using an available USB port. If the joystick came with a CD (containing drivers and software), insert the CD into the computer's CD-ROM drive. Follow any on-screen prompts to install the necessary drivers and software into the computer.
Start your World of Warcraft game. If a CD is needed to start game play, insert the CD into the CD-ROM. Otherwise, click the World of Warcraft icon on the desktop or select it from the Start menu. Press "Options" from the in-game menu to change the settings of the joystick.
Select "Configure" to change the mapping of movements and keys of the joystick. Map the movement of the mouse to the joystick's analog stick or directional pad. Map other action keys from the keyboard to the buttons on the controller or joystick. Press "Save" to save changes to the joystick configuration. Press "Start" in the main menu to begin a game of World of Warcraft.
