How to Troubleshoot a BlueTooth for a PS3

The PlayStation 3 is a video game console that gives users the ability to connect to other players through an Internet connection. If you have a game like "Call of Duty" or "Battlefield," you can talk to other players through a Bluetooth headset. This headset makes a connection with the PS3 via Voice over Internet Protocol. Many people use this kind of technology for strategizing during their multiplayer games. Common problems can be fixed with little hassle.

Instructions

    • 1

Charge your Bluetooth headset before you use it with your PS3. Connect your Bluetooth headset to a charging station until it has charged fully. Charging a Bluetooth usually takes about an hour to complete.

    • 2

Consult your headset's manual for a passcode. This is typically "0000" as the default passcode.

    • 3

Go to your PS3 and select the "Settings" icon from the home screen with the "X" button on your controller. Go to the "Accessory Settings" option and then press the "X" button on your controller to select it.

    • 4

Click on the "Manage Bluetooth Devices" icon and then click on the "Register New Device" option. Select "Yes" when you are prompted.

    • 5

Turn on your Bluetooth headset from the power button on the headset. This can vary from unit to unit, so consult your manual for the specific location of this button. Put your Bluetooth headset into "Pairing Mode." Holding the power button down for 10 seconds usually puts it into pairing mode. Consult your manual if you can't get it into pairing mode.

    • 6

Click the "Start Scanning" option from the PS3 screen. Wait for the scan to finish. This should take about 30 seconds to complete. Use your controller to select your Bluetooth from the screen.

    • 7

Send your Bluetooth back to the manufacturer if you still can't get the device to pair with your PS3.
