Rock Band Mics Compatible With SingStar

With more music games being published every day, the retail market is saturated with many different accessories, each of which has particular compatibility restraints. The "Rock Band" and more recent "Guitar Hero" games all support microphone accessories, as do the many karaoke-style games like "SingStar" and "Sing It!" Each of these games has their own microphone available, but certain microphones will also work with different software.

SingStar
- The "SingStar" games are an exclusive PlayStation property and so will only support microphones configured for the PlayStation 3 console (past iterations of "SingStar" are available on PlayStation 2, but are no longer in publication).
Rock Band Microphone
- The official "Rock Band" microphone is available as part of the "Rock Band" and "Rock Band 2" bundle packages, and is sold individually. The PlayStation 3 Rock Band Microphone and the PlayStation 3 Rock Band 2 Microphone are both compatible with the "SingStar" games.
Wireless Microphones
- The PlayStation 3 "Rock Band 2" Microphone is also available in a wireless format, and connects to the PlayStation 3 console via Bluetooth. This microphone is compatible with "SingStar" games, as are several other wireless microphones.
Other Microphones Compatible with Singstar
- The microphones for the following games on PlayStation 3 are also compatible with the followin "SingStar" games: "The Beatles: Rock Band," "Guitar Hero: World Tour" and "Band Hero."
