How to Use the Rockster Wireless Wii Guitar

Many first-party guitar controllers, such as those developed by Harmonix or Activision, are expensive, especially if they are wireless. Video game enthusiasts can buy third-party guitars, such as Psyclone's Rockster Wireless Guitar, for a lower price. The controller, designed for the Nintendo Wii, works with many Rock Band and Guitar Hero games. Use the guitar's included receiver to wirelessly sync the controller to your Wii.

Instructions

    • 1

      Turn off the Wii.

    • 2

Insert the Rockster guitar's wireless receiver into a USB port on the Wii. The receiver allows the guitar to connect to the Wii.

    • 3

Power on the Wii. This powers the receiver as well.

    • 4

Load a Guitar Hero or Rock Band game on the Wii.

    • 5

Hold down the the receiver's button. Holding the button tells the receiver to search for wireless signals.

    • 6

Hold the Rockster guitar's wireless button. The buttons on both devices should flash if the signal is being picked up.

    • 7

Release both buttons when they stop flashing. The guitar is ready for use on the Wii.

    • 8

Use the guitar in-game just as you would use your first-party guitar. Strum the notes by flicking the strum key while holding down the note displayed on the screen. Use the whammy bar to earn extra points while holding notes. Use "Star Power" by waving the guitar up and down.
