How to Modify Joysticks

Joysticks are generally used with computers to provide PC game players with a similar experience to arcade or console games. Generally, these joysticks would connect to a computer through a specialized serial port known as a "game port." However, if you wish to modify your joystick and update it to make use of a computer's USB port, you can do so easily.

      Connect the game port end of your game port-to-USB cable to the cable extending from your joystick.

      Connect the USB end of the adapter cable to an available USB port on your computer.

      Select the "Next" button on the "Add Hardware" wizard, and follow the wizard's prompts in accordance with your joystick's specifications to install the proper joystick drivers on your computer and begin playing.
