Things You'll Need
Instructions
Connect the MIDI adapter to the RD-4 Roland drum kit via the MIDI adapter cable. The Roland drum kit will have an attached auxiliary cord, because the drums are electronic. Plug the end of the auxiliary cord into the MIDI adapter cable.
Connect the cord coming out of the MIDI adapter into the controller port of the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360. Make sure that you have the correct MIDI adapter, because a PlayStation 3 MIDI adapter will not work on an Xbox 360 and vice versa. The MIDI adapter will feature the PlayStation 3 or Xbox logo to help signify the correct adapter.
Load the "Rock Band 2" video game, and use the MIDI adapter to navigate through the "Rock Band 2" menu.
Highlight the mode that you want to play (Tour, Practice, Solo), and press the "X" button on the MIDI adapter.
Navigate and select the desired song.
Adjust the velocity sensitivity on the MIDI adapter, if the bars on the screen appear to fast or slow. Turn the middle knob up to speed up the appearance bars. Turn the knob down to speed down the appearance bars. Play through a few songs to see which speed suits you best.
Learn the controls of the Roland drum kit. With "Rock Band 2," you cannot adjust the drum controls, but the drum controls aren't that different from the controls on the "Rock Band" drums. The only major difference is that hitting the blue note on your drums will be read as hitting the red note and vice versa.
