DIY Wii Drums

Hooking up playing accessories to a Wii system can sometimes be confusing because there are a number of usable USB ports. If you have recently expanded your Wii game collection to include a version of either Guitar Hero or Rock Band, your can easily hook up your wireless drums to your console to allow for extra players in your virtual band.

  • Wii remote controller

Instructions

      Boot up your system to begin setup.

      Turn on your console. In order to connect your Wii drums your console must be in use. Push the "Power" button located near the top of the console to boot up your system.

      Start the sync process on your Wii console. Your Wii system's "Sync" button is located under the front panel on the console. Lift this panel gently and press the red button located toward the bottom of the system.

      When the light in the remote turns blue, the controller is in sync with the console.

      Sync up one of your Wii remotes to the console. To do this, remove the controller's battery cover and press the corresponding red "Sync" button that is located toward the bottom of the remote. Hold the button down until the light turns blue to complete the syncing. This will allow your remote to communicate with the console during play.

      Plug your remote into the space provided on the drum set to start play.

      Connect your Wii controller to your wireless drum set. In the middle of your drum set there is a space to plug in your game controller to your drums with a short wire inside. Pick up the wire and, using the connector at the end, plug it into the port at the bottom of the remote. Place the entire controller into the space on the drum set to begin play.
