How to Connect a Guitar Hero Mic to an XBox 360

Games in the "Guitar Hero" series after the "World Tour" edition support microphones so a player can sing the vocal portions of songs. The official "Guitar Hero" microphone for Xbox 360 connects to a free USB port on the console. The player with the microphone needs to use the Xbox 360 controller to select menu options.

Instructions

  Insert the USB connector from the microphone into a USB port on the front of the Xbox 360.

  Turn the game console and a controller on. Insert a game disc from the "Guitar Hero" series compatible with a microphone.

  Start the game and select a game mode from the main menu. The options are usually "Career" or "Quickplay."

  Click the "Vocals" option when prompted for an instrument and select a song to play.

  Tap the microphone to test it when the game has loaded and the band appears on stage. You will hear feedback from the tap over your television speakers if the microphone is connected properly.
