How to Take Apart the Wii Rock Band Guitar for Storage

The Wii "Rock Band" guitar originally comes with the head of the fret board detached for shipping storage purposes. Once this is attached, it is not so simple to remove should you decide to store the guitar. To remove this head piece, you need to remove some screws, so have somewhere safe to store them while you disassemble the guitar. Unlike some other guitar controllers, the "Rock Band" controller is not designed to come apart. When the head is removed the guitar will fit back in the original packaging for storage.

  Turn the guitar over and remove the four screws on the head piece. Lift off the panel on the back of the head.

  Remove the small screw at the bottom of the head that secures the silver plate in place. Take off the silver plate.

  Note the location of the metal pins either side of the head section. Apply gentle pressure and bend the head piece backward to remove it from the guitar. Replace the metal pins if they fall out once the head has been removed.

  Replace the silver plate and put the screw that secures it back in.
- 5
  Screw the back cover of the guitar head back on.
