How to Place Memory From a PS2 to a PS3 on the Hard Drive

While the PS3 makes use of an internal hard drive, the PS2 makes used of portable memory cards. Since you can play PS2 games on some versions of the PS3, you may find it beneficial to transfer your PS2 memory card data on your PS3.
