How to Troubleshoot a Logitech Dual Action Problem

Using your Logitech Dual Action gamepad allows you to control your games with two programmable analog joysticks, 12 action buttons and an eight-way D-pad, far better than using a keyboard and mouse to play games. You may have noticed how much longer you can play games with the gamepad's comfort grip. At times, you may run into problems while using your Logitech Dual Action gamepad. Troubleshooting these problems can save you time, so you can return to enjoying your games.

  Rotate the mini joystick connected to the mouse axis if you have WingMan Profiler Mouse Emulation enabled, and the character in the Grand Theft Auto 3 game screen spins around in circles. Rotate the right or left mini joystick slowly around all four corners whenever you start a game or make any changes in WingMan Profiler. This procedure reports the minimum and maximum ranges to the DirectX driver. You will find this problem in Sony PlayStation 2 and Windows XP, 2000, Me and 98.

  Fix the mapping problem of the right-hand joystick's Look and View functions for Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb by opening the following file: C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Indiana Jones and the Emperors Tomb\GameData\indy\binds.cfg.
  
  Locate two lines as listed below:
  
  setbind 1 COMMAND_CAMERA_X CONTROLLER 0 AXIS_RZ -1.0 1.0 10.0
  
  setbind 1 COMMAND_CAMERA_Y CONTROLLER 0 AXIS_RY -1.0 1.0 10.0
  
  Change the mid-portion of the lines to read:
  
  CONTROLLER 0 AXIS_Z
  
  CONTROLLER 0 AXIS_RZ
  
  Leave the remaining parts of both lines intact. This fix remaps the axes to match the right-hand joystick's axes on your Logitech Dual Action gamepad. This fix applies to Windows XP, 2000, Me, 98 and 95.

  Click "Start," "Programs," "Administrative Tools" and then "Disk Administration" if you see the error message "Error 1327. Invalid Drive: C:\" while you attempt to install software for your Logitech Dual Action gamepad. Error 1327 means Microsoft changed the drive letter. Right-click the drive letter you want to change. In this example, right-click the "C:" drive. Click "Assign Drive Letter" if you have a shortcut menu. Choose the correct drive letter appearing in a list, and then click "OK." You may need to restart your computer if prompted. This fix applies to Windows XP, 2000 and Me.

  Log in as administrator, or the Windows XP home edition owner, if you find the Logitech Profiler gaming software will not install in Windows XP or 2000. Logictech Profiler writes to the registry in Windows as it records commands on a virtual keyboard. Only the administrator can allow changes or updates to the registry.
