How to Use the Headset on Call of Duty 3

"Call of Duty 3" is a fast-paced first-person shooter that was released for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Although the game supports local multiplayer (via split-screen and LAN), voice chat is online enabled when playing online. Using headsets makes communicating with your team easier and can be beneficial for serious "Call of Duty 3" players. How you use the headset will vary depending on which platform you're using.

Instructions

  1. Setting Up Headset on Xbox 360

    • 1

Insert the headset connector into the controller expansion port on the bottom of the Xbox 360 controller.

    • 2

Verify that the "Mute" button is in the "Off" position. Position the microphone so that is close enough to your lips to be detected, but not so close that it picks up unwanted breathing noise.

    • 3

Speak into the headset while playing an online "Call of Duty 3" game. Some online "Call of Duty 3" games may have voice chat disabled. You can identify whether voice chat is enabled or disabled in the server browser that you use to join games.

    Setting Up Headset on PS3

    • 4

Insert the wired headset into the USB port on the front of the PS3. The PS3 supports most USB headsets, even if they are not officially endorsed by Sony. To setup a Bluetooth headset, press the "Bluetooth Mode" button (note -- it may be titled differently on the Bluetooth headset) on your Bluetooth headset to search for compatible devices (AKA, the PS3). Select the "Settings" submenu from the PS3 main menu. Select "Accessory Settings" and select "Register Bluetooth Device" to pair the Bluetooth headset with the PS3.

Verify that the "Mute" button is in the "Off" position. Position the microphone so that is close enough to your lips to be detected, but not so close that it picks up unwanted breathing noise.
