Guncon 3 Troubleshooting

Namco's GunCon 3 controller is a light gun peripheral that lets PlayStation 3 owners shoot at onscreen enemies in games such as "Time Crisis 4" and "Time Crisis: Razing Storm." The controller communicates with LED markers placed on the user's TV set, which makes the controller extremely accurate. In order to achieve the best results with the GunCon 3, the controller components and playing area must be set up properly.

Instructions

  Adjust the placement of the LED markers for optimal performance. Place the LED markers on top of your TV, with the silicon belts draped over the back of the set. The markers should face the same direction as the TV screen, and they should both be at the same height. Place the LED markers right-side up, with the hinge on the markers facing upward. Position LED markers as far apart as possible, with the center of the cable between them aligned with the center of your TV screen.

  Remove any strong source of natural or artificial light from the playing area. Strong light sources can interfere with the infrared signal emitted by the GunCon 3. Turn off lights and close curtains to eliminate light interference.

  Remove any wireless devices that may interfere with the GunCon 3 signal, such as cell phones, extra game controllers or television remotes.

  Remove any objects or obstructions from the playing area. Obstructions can block the signal emitted by the GunCon 3.

  Stand directly in front of your TV screen. The GunCon 3 may not communicate properly with the LED markers if you stand off to the side or at an angle.

  Stand at the correct distance from your TV screen. If the LED light on the GunCon 3 lights up, the GunCon 3 cannot detect the markers. Adjust your distance to the TV set until the LED light turns off. Maintain this same distance throughout your play time, since the GunCon 3 may become misaligned if you change your distance in the middle of the game.
